Artist Books

Within the artist book genre, the functions of varied aspects of the book form, such as materiality, tactility, and temporality are investigated. The tactile engagement that artist books draw potency from is rooted in the nature of the body’s relationship to the book form. No matter how cerebral its content, the basic
mechanisms of the hand’s touch are fundamental to the function of artist books, leading me to consider them both a distinct and effective artform.
